From 25 to 28 of January the third Strategy Session led by Skolkovo business school moderators and experts was held in MEPhI. Petr Schedrovitskiy, the head of the department of Strategic Planning and Management Methodology of MEPhI, member of the board of the “North-West” Strategic Studies Center” Fund, deputy General Director for “Rosatom”, gave a lecture at the session.
The purpose of the lecture was showing the challenges which educational and research institutions will face in the nearest future. The philosopher started his 2-day training seminar from describing 4 main problem spheres and the reforms in personnel training and higher education which have started.
The short-term challenge is that technological platform in the world is changing. “We teach in a different way now, and the process of personnel training is different from what was 15-30 years ago which is connected with 100 % information of education”.
The medium-term challenge is the change of institutional core of educational process. Previously the educational institution was the institutional core of educational process but now it is an individual educational program.
The third challenge was called the Third Industrial Revolution by the speaker. It is the adequacy of engineer training in connection with new requirements to competences and skills.
The fourth, the most long-term one is in ontology shift – the management staff, engineers and teachers should make a right view on the world’s educational and scientific picture.
Petr Schedrovitskiy has been studying this topic for more than 10 years and has gathered a lot of illustrative and factual material.
