A group of scientists from the MEPhI Department of Micro- and Nanoelectronics in collaboration with the Laboratory of General Physiology of Functional Systems, P. K. Anokhin Institute of Normal Physiology have worked out a computer appliance for the research of weak electromagnetic fields (WEF) individual effects on human psychophysiological parameters and health.
Existing studies show that electromagnetic fields of microwave band, apart from thermal exposure have nonthermal exposure at living organisms as a whole as well as at their structures.
In connection with the growth of electromagnetic environment, including workplaces, pollution, during completing of tasks by staff the research of electromagnetic fields effects on human in his professional activities becomes actual and useful. Nowadays one of the most informative noninvasive means for physiological functions and human health evaluation is the analysis of the heart rhythm variability (HRV).
The aim of our scientists research is the analysis of the heart rhythm variability under the action of electromagnetic fields of microwave band from WEF imitators of different range (including standart GSM mobile devices) in the process of performing tasks at a hand-eye coordination computer test “Marksman” taking into account absorbed electromagnetic radiation.
The analysis of HRV indices while accomplishing sensorimotor activity under the influence of microwave band electromagnetic fields has shown individual typological peculiarities of statistical and especially spectral changes of HRV characteristics. The most significant shift took place in power level of very low-frequency HRV spectral range.
The research of modulated microwave band electromagnetic fields influence at living organisms continues as a part of Russian Science Foundation research grant.
