MEPhI inaugurates memorial plaque dedicated to Head of Department № 13 (1969 – 1988) academician V.I. Subbotin

On December 18, 2015 the University has inaugurated a memorial plaque dedicated to the academician Valery Subbotin.
V. I. Subbotin is one of the founders of the technology of liquid metal coolants for fast reactors for various purposes, a member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He headed the Department of Thermophysics in Moscow Engineering Physics Institute from 1969 to 1988.
The author of the memorial plaque is the people's artist of Russia, sculptor A.I. Rukavishnikov.
The opening of the memorial was attended by the rector of MEPhI M.N. Strikhanov, Acting Dean of the Physico-Technical Faculty G.V. Tikhomirov, colleagues of V.I. Subbotin from the Academy of Sciences, representatives of the State Corporation Rosatom, employees of the Department of “Thermal physics”.
