On December 14 the International Winter school-conference for young scientists and specialists “Materials for power industry and environmental protection” has started its work in MEPhI.

The Winter School is focused on the consideration and discussion of issues related to the development of materials for power industry based on the use of alternative sources and materials for the preservation and protection of the environment. It is intended for a wide audience of young researchers, future professionals in the field of materials science, postgraduates, PhDs and master’s degree students.

The school has two objectives. First, it’s to give participants a comprehensive view of principles, opportunities and problems of materials science and engineering in the field of alternative energy technologies, particularly photovoltaic, including various aspects of environmental protection. Secondly – to form students’ need to understand the relevance of links between traditional disciplines so that to achieve success.

Leading Russian and foreign experts from Norway and Sweden, as well as young scientists, postgraduates and senior students of MEPhI will present their reports.
