On November 13, MEPhI has held a scientific-practical conference “Student science” on the topic “Great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 in memory of people”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory of Soviet people in the Great Patriotic war.
Students from MEPhI and other universities of Moscow submitted more than 70 applications to participate in the conference. Opening speech was made by Professor of the MEPhI Department “History” V.A. Makedonskaya.
The conference was attended by Professor of Department №5, honored worker of Russian higher school, the former juvenile prisoner of fascist concentration camps V.I. Naumov. His emotional story about historical events, about concentration camp Stukenbrock aroused considerable interest among students.
Reports revealed different historical aspects of the Great Patriotic war. A lot of attention was paid to the topic “My family during the war” when guys told history of their families, about the events of the Great Patriotic war on the territory of their home towns.
At the end the conference summed up its results and awarded participants with certificates and the book “Youth of Russia in the Great Patriotic war”.
