On 24-25 of November 2015 the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has held the second international scientific conference “The Palaea interpretata” in the context of ancient culture of XI-XVII centuries”. It was organized by MEPhI, the Gorky Literary Institute and the publishing house “Soglasie” (Agreement).

“The Palaea interpretata” is one of the most important but little-studied earliest monuments of Old Russian literature which was widely known in Ancient Rus before the translation of the Bible into the Church Slavonic language (1499). Scientific study allows to understand the spiritual life of the initial period of our state better. That's why it is so important to hold such international conferences, which gather representatives of different scientific schools and directions.

One of the topics discussed at the first plenary session of the conference was the need for the deepening of the humanitarian education for students of natural sciences. Participation of physicists in the study “Palaea” became a breakthrough of this conference. It has emerged that picture of the world that was created by the “Palaea” author not only correlates in some of its parts, but also coincides with the ideas of modern physics about the world and the Universe.

All conference participants were united in the opinion that “The Palaea interpretata” is a “space”, which can be studied by representatives of different sciences: theology, philosophy, history, medieval studies, linguistics, literary studies, physics and mathematics.
