On 23-25 November the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” has held a Visiting Session of the RAS Scientific Council on the problem “Radiation physics of solids” under the direction of the RAS corresponding member B.N. Goschitskiy.

Over the years the University occupies the leading positions in the study of radiation effects in condensed matter. It was reflected in the programme of Council meetings, where presentations were made by Heads of centers “Nanostructured electronics”, “Nuclear systems and materials”, “Plasma and Laser Investigations and Technologies” about prospective studies of MEPhI.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the largest research centers of the State Corporation “Rosatom”, the National Research Centre “Kurchatov Institute”, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the following universities: Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics, Higher School of Economics, Tomsk State University, National Research University of Electronic Technology, St.Petersburg Polytechnic University.

RAS Scientific Council listened to a series of reports in the field of radiation physics of solids, including two reports from MEPhI. Also it reviewed works which apply for the status of the best work of the year.
