On 17-19 November 2015 MEPhI has hosted the international research conference “AtomTech 2015. Electrophysics” organized by the State Corporation “Rosatom”, the management company of the Block for innovation management of JSC “Science and innovations”, MEPhI Center of Plasma and Laser Investigations and Technologies (PLIT) and the MEPhI Center for Nuclear Energy.

The largest scientific forum was attended by more than 200 Russian and foreign experts, heads of research areas, leading scientists from various organizations.

Plenary and parallel thematic sessions addressed issues of plasma and beam technologies, nuclear medicine and agro-bio application of radiation technologies, behavior of matter and biological objects in strong fields of electromagnetic influence. Participants discussed application problems of technological lasers, as well as industrial and scientific equipment on the basis of high-temperature superconductors, accelerators and electromagnetic devices for radiation technologies, thermionic and thermoelectric converters; electrical equipment for research and industrial technology and other aspects.

In all over 50 papers were presented at the conference in various areas of nuclear science, which one way or another related to electrophysics. Sectional meetings were also attended by teachers, students and postgraduates of MEPhI, who work and study in these scientific areas.

Organizers and participants of the event noted that conference’s outcomes should play an important role in determining development directions of scientific-technological complex of the State Corporation “Rosatom”.

The conference “AtomTech2015.Electrophysics” demonstrated significant scientific potential, which is needed to be “converted” into a new round of technological development of “Rosatom” by the joint efforts of scientific organizations, universities and industrial enterprises.
