Alexander Prokhanov: Understanding native history is an extremely important phenomenon
17.11.2015

On November 16, MEPhI has been visited by the Russian writer, screenwriter, politician and public figure Alexander Andreevich Prokhanov.

In the beginning of the meeting, Alexander Prokhanov said it was a great honor and pleasure for him to perform in one of the most famous and important universities in the country.

Alexander Andreevich compares historical formation of the Russian state with a sinusoid that illustrates the most important periodic flights and downs of the country. He stressed that many of the decisive events, which had led to the rise or decline of the Russian state, occurred due to the almost mystical coincidence.

A.A. Prokhanov identified five such cycles of flights and downs in the history of Russia and during the lecture he substantiated each of them, presenting interesting facts.

Students and lecturers of MEPhI took the opportunity to ask the lecturer questions. This activity of listeners pleased and pleasantly surprised Alexander Andreyevich.

After the lecture, the writer thanked all the audience for their attention and questions, and also promised to visit the University once more.
