30.10.2015

Fr om 23 to 24 October MEPhI has held the Third International Workshop on Low Energy Particle Physics – LEPP-3, organized by the interdepartmental Laboratory for Experimental Nuclear Physics of MEPhI with the support of international scientific collaboration COHERENT.

The workshop was attended by the leading scientists of several renowned international collaborations that conduct experiments on direct search of dark matter (experiments LUX, LZ, MiniBooNE), search for neutrinoless double beta decay (MAJORANA, EXO-200, CUORE), observation of coherent scattering of neutrinos on heavy nuclei (experiment COHERENT). In all 24 reports were discussed.

On the second day of the workshop, participants visited MEPhI Laboratory and inspected the installation RED-100, which undergoes tests during preparation for the experiment COHERENT. Also leading representatives of international research collaborations met with rector of MEPhI M.N. Strikhanov and discussed plans of further cooperation in educational and scientific spheres.

In conclusion of the workshop there was conducted a working meeting of COHERENT collaboration, wh ere participants designed a plan of further cooperation with MEPhI.
