Young engineers, inventors and designers from all over the country have taken part in the forum “Future intellectual leaders of Russia”, which has just started in Yaroslavl. Among them there are 86 participants of international competitions, 155 winners of Russian competitions, 178 authors of various thematic publications and so on, and the average age of participants is around 16 years old. The main objective of the forum is to create a national reserve of young talents, to organize “social elevator” for talented young people, and also to increase interest of pupils in natural sciences, engineering and technical creativity.

The forum has formed several scientific clusters for young talents in different fields of technologies: space, health, materials, motion, energy and communications. At the end of the first day participants of the forum will need to choose which cluster they want to join, form teams and start to compete in selected disciplines.

During the official part distinguished guests addressed welcoming speech to the young people. Among them there was the Plenipotentiary of the President in the Central Federal district Alexander Beglov, who conveyed the congratulations of Vladimir Putin. Also Russian cosmonauts Mikhail Korniyenko, Oleg Kononenko and Sergei Volkov greeted creative youth from International Space Station, which became a pleasant surprise for young engineers and technologists.
