On 29th of September the international conference QS Worldwide has begun its work in Nizhny Novgorod, which, along with representatives from 30 countries, was attended by a delegation of MEPhI.
The forum is aimed at the development of higher education in Russia and countries of Central Asia through international partnership.
3 plenary sessions were held on the first day. At first the floor was given to the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Alexander Povalko. Noting the openness and willingness of Russia to integrate into the international educational environment, he wished all participants to establish relations, which will subsequently lead to long and fruitful cooperation.
Also the Minister of Education and Science of the Nizhny Novgorod region Sergei Naumov, General Director of QS Asia Mandy Mok and other responsible person made speeches before the heads of universities from all regions of the world.
Further, representatives of higher educational institutions from Singapore, Holland, India, Belgium and Hong Kong spoke about their activities, experience of international cooperation and ways to improve positions of their universities in rankings. Then the floor was given to representatives of Russian universities, who shared their own experience to improve international competitiveness.
The next two days conference will be continued by the sessional work; universities-participants of the Project 5-100 and foreign universities will deliver their presentations.
