On September 29 National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has received a delegation of the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) headed by its President Professor Hu Haiyan, accompanied by the leaders of Faculties and Departments.
During the meeting parties exchanged views on prospects of cooperation between two largest engineering universities, gave a General idea about their institutions. The Professor Hu Haiyan gave a lecture to MEPhI students and postgraduates about the history of the largest Institute of China, its educational and scientific directions, and also presented prospects of BIT development up to 2040. The lecture aroused great interest among the audience.
BIT representatives expressed great interest in establishing strong and long-term contacts with MEPhI. In this case, in an effort to extend international cooperation and having common interests in the field of scientific research and education, BIT and MEPhI signed a number of agreements on mutually beneficial cooperation.
In particular, participants of the meeting signed the Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of science and education, under which the parties agreed to promote the exchange of scientists, teachers, graduate and masters students, to provide mutual assistance in the training of researchers and academic personnel in the scientific field, to share experiences in developing effective teaching methods, to organize bilateral schools and competitions for young scientists, to hold symposia, seminars and conferences, and participate in the creation of programs of double diploma.
Also MEPhI, Beijing Institute of Technology and the Institute of General physics of RAS concluded a tripartite Agreement on creation of a joint laboratory, which will focus on research in the field of laser micro- and nanotechnologies. In its framework they will develop joint research programs and projects.
