From 7 to 11 September 2015 an International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy, has held a school on Nuclear Knowledge Management, which become regular since the last year. It was organized by the IAEA with the support and direct participation of MEPhI. The course consisted of two main parts: distance learning using a cyber learning platform CLP4NET, which took place in spring 2015, and a full-time study in Trieste. Training was conducted both by experts from the IAEA and lecturers of MEPhI.
During the week more than 40 participants from 28 countries discussed the main approaches, methods and tools of knowledge management as a key resource of enterprises of the nuclear industry, and participated in practical exercises, carried out projects on relevant issues of technologies of knowledge management.
The International school in Trieste ended immediately prior to the IAEA General conference. Agency representatives noted the importance of effective knowledge management, which aims to increase the likelihood of achieving long-term competitiveness and sustainability through the use of knowledge for efficient operation of nuclear facilities. They highly appreciated the contribution of MEPhI to a regular course “Management of nuclear knowledge” and in its certification as a refresher course for specialists of the nuclear industry.
