Journal “Financial security” points MEPhI contribution to training of professionals
A journal “Financial security” No. 9/2015 has published an article “MEPhI as a synthesis of educational, scientific and innovative activity”, which noted the leading role of the University in provision of innovative sectors of the national economy with personnel and high-tech ideas. In particular, it’s notable for the preparation of highly qualified specialists in the field of energy and research and technological security to ensure Russia's national interests, including the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring.
The publication highlights that today the MEPhI is positioned as a global education, research and innovation centre, the main feature of which is unity of educational, scientific and innovative activities.
The article also noted a significant role of the University in addressing issues of financial security. In particular, it’s said that an Institute of Financial and Economic Security MEPhI trains personnel in the interests of the national system of counteraction to legalization of money laundering and financing of terrorism.
University activities in training specialists in this sphere were marked by high awards. In particular, on behalf of the Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation MEPhI rector M.N. Strikhanov was awarded an Honorary diploma for great contribution to development of educational sphere, training highly-qualified specialists in the sphere of combating the legalization of income obtained by criminal means and financing of terrorism in 2014.
The Journal “Financial security” is the official newspaper of the Federal Service for Financial Monitoring. Leading experts from government agencies, commercial and academic organizations discuss various issues relating to combating money laundering, terrorist financing, combating economic crimes and corruption and other relevant issues on its pages.
