NAMDIATREAM project, one key branch of which headed by LNBE Professor Igor Nabiev, is the best EC nanotechnological project
02.07.2015

NAMDIATREAM (Nanotechnological Toolkits for Multi-Modal Disease Diagnostics and Treatment Monitoring), one of the largest projects in the European Community, has been announced the best among more than 1000 projects in Nanotechnologies, Advanced Materials and Production that have ever been supported by EC. Igor Nabiev, a leading scientist of the Laboratory of Nano-Bioengineering (LNBE) of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Russia, and Professor of the Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France, direct Semiconductor Nanocrystals, the main technological platform of NAMDIATREAM. The project was ranked the first at the 7th EuroNanoForum Conference (EuroNanoForum 2015) – an international forum on nanotechnologies and advanced materials, attended by more than 1200 participants.

NAMDIATREAM, carried out jointly by 22 partner institutions from nine European countries, is aimed at developing innovative systems for diagnosing several types of cancer with a total incidence of 4.5 million cases per year. The diagnostic systems are based on novel nanotechnological approaches to multiplexed detection of cancer markers at the initial stages of tumor formation.

The European Technological Platform “Semiconductor Nanocrystals” is a key platform of the project and combines efforts of six European partners. Professor Nabiev is the director of the technological platform; LNBE is its associated member.
