On the 3rd of June 2015 one of the leading experts in the field of educational policy of Russia, Professor of Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Andrei Volkov and a head of educational programs of SKOLKOVO Olga Nazaykinskaya have visited MEPhI.

A meeting with recognized experts gathered more than one hundred MEPhI representatives – initiative, creative, ambitious and energetic young people, who will form a personnel basis of the University and who are seeking to provide a decent representation of Russia in the world scientific and educational community.

“The purpose of our meetings is to find and gather people who can reform and develop the University. Two days ago we met here, and I told young people that several years later they would have to be responsible for middle management and maybe higher one. We have an administrative team, but I have to agree that a speed of changes in MEPhI is not as it should be. We have taken everything that we could from an education model that we have now”, said MEPhI rector M. N. Strikhanov.

Then A.E. Volkov took the floor. His speech consisted of three parts. The speaker talked about what was happening in higher education of the Russian Federation, addressed a question of how it was connected with a global context, what difficulties universities have and why it matters to us and, thirdly he said about nature, technology or procedure for reformation and development of the University.

In the final part of the meeting A.E. Volkov answered numerous questions of MEPhI students and staff.

Participation in the program for strategic development of MEPhI includes a competition. Participants will be evaluated on the basis of completed questionnaires and a cover letter. Forms of applications and letters will be on the official website of the University later.
