On June 3 two leading national ratings of universities have published its results, where MEPhI achieved good results.
According to the National rating of universities in the 2014/2015 academic year, presented by the International Information Group “Interfax” and radio station “Echo of Moscow”, as a year earlier the list of Russian universities is led by the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The second place was taken by the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”, on the third – Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
Universities were assessed in six main areas: educational activities; research activities; social environment of the university; international activity; university’s brand; innovations and entrepreneurship (technological entrepreneurship at the university).
In the nomination “Research” MEPhI has taken the second place, in “Innovation and Entrepreneurship” – the third, in “Education” and “Brand” – the fifth place. At the same time the rating draws attention to a number of problematic for University areas, such as “Socialization” (10th place), and “Internationalization” (17th place).
On the same day a Rating Agency RAEX (“Expert RA”) has also announced results, where MEPhI has improved its last year's result, rising from the fourth to the third position.
