On the 9th of May a naval and aviation parade dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic war has taken place in the hero-city Sevastopol. Along with the residents MEPhI students – representatives of the United Council of students – also participated in the festive event.
The March of veterans in Sevastopol was held under the applause of thousands of parade participants. Local people were standing with flowers and flags along streets, on sidewalks and lawns, while a column of veterans with flowers in hands, gleaming with orders and medals, were marching past. MEPhI students together with other people shouted to them “Thank you!”
Ten large amphibious ships, including “Yamal” and “Nikolay Filchenkov”, missile hovercraft “Bora”, patrol ship “Smetliviy”, minesweeper “Kuvrovets”, anti-submarine ship “Aleksandrovets”, patrol ship of a border service “Zhemchug” and others, lined up in parade in Sevastopol Bay led by a missile cruiser “Moskva” – a flagship of the Black sea fleet.
The passage of Sevastopol garrison forces was continued by the movement of military equipment. Samples of the latest Russian weapons – SAM “Osa” and “Bastion”, “Pantsir-S”, MRL “Grad-M” processed on the main street of the city.
Military equipment was followed by the aviation parade, which was attended by military helicopters and naval aircraft, including advanced fighter aircrafts Su-30 SM, which have entered service in the Black sea fleet of the Russian Federation this year.
