MEPhI has held “Elsevier Day in MEPhI” in the framework of measures to increase publication activity of university’s authors.
Elsevier is the world's largest media holding of scientific literature with over 400 years of history. Today over 30 million scientists of the world use Elsevier’s information solutions.
The event was attended by over 200 people – undergraduates, postgraduates, researchers and teachers of MEPhI. It was opened by Andrey Loktev, consultant on key business solutions of Elsevier S&T in Russia. He spoke about electronic resources to help young scientists, introduced search and multimedia capabilities of ScienceDirect, explained how to sel ect a journal and publish an article in it, how to find necessary article among 12 million publications.
Elsevier Day was continued with a workshop in English for authors of scientific articles, conducted by Ingrid van de Stadt, Regional Marketing Director at Elsevier.
The final event of the Day was a presentation of a new free tool for scientists “Mendeley”. It was presented by Loktev A.P., who told in details how to create and organize a personal research library and to interact with scientists fr om all over the world using Mendeley.
