Once again MEPhI has welcomed participants of an annual Russian Student Olympiad. Following a competitive assignment the University holds Olympiad in four core areas in 2015: information security; automation, electronics and microelectronics; physics; nuclear physics and technology.

On April 18-20 MEPhI held a competition in two areas: automation, electronics and microelectronics and information security.

One more time a large-scale educational contest united the strongest students from across the country in the MEPhI. Many of them came to the University not for the first time. By the way, participants noted that participation in the Olympiad is not only a test of their knowledge but also an opportunity to communicate, make friends and establish scientific contacts.

A wide geography of participants, a large number of higher education institutions once again proved an undoubted interest of students in the event, which has already became a traditional one. In total over 200 students from 37 universities from different Russian cities were involved in the Olympiad in two areas.

Olympiad in the MEPhI is held under the patronage of the State Corporation for atomic energy “Rosatom”, JSC “Ruselectronics”, Russian Railways, Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of Russia and Educational-methodical Association of universities for Information Security. Leaders of these organizations show a great interest in the results of the Olympiad, on the basis of which the winners will receive interesting job offers at specialized enterprises.

Summing up results of competitions the jury noted that year by year the level of competition was increasing, the guys were showing a higher level of training, and the gap between winning places in the final became smaller. So it’s not easy to determine clear winners. Many participants demonstrated a high level of theoretical training, lateral thinking and creativity in task solution. Pleased to report that once again there are students of the MEPhI among the winners!
