On the 12th of February participants of the project 5-100 has met on the traditional seminar-conference, held in Tomsk. It was devoted to the results of the ranking of the best Russian universities – participants of the Project 5-100 in the implementation of performance indicators in 2014.
The leading position among the 14 universities was taken by the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”.
Ranking leadership of the University was secured by the first place in the average citation index per faculty employee, calculated as an aggregate of publications included in the databases Web of Science and Scopus, by the second place in the number of publications per faculty employee in these databases and in share of non-budgetary sources in the structure of University’s income, and by relatively high places in the following: the average score at Uniform state exam of students accepted for tuition-free education in bachelor and specialist program (12 out of 14 possible points; 3rd place), share of foreign students on the basic educational programs of the University (7 points, 8th place), share of foreign professors, lecturers and researchers in Academic staff, including Russian citizens – holders of PhD degree of foreign universities (6 points, 9th place).
Thus, following total points MEPhI took the 1st place (92 points), being ahead of Novosibirsk State University (by 1 point), MIPT (84 points), ITMO University (78 points). According to another method, these three universities are on the top of the list.
