The conference had the following topics: coherent and nonlinear optics, fiber and integrated optics, optics of crystals and acousto-optics, interaction of radiation with matter and optical materials, holography and digital optics, optical communication and optoelectronic information processing.

The conference was opened by the Deputy Director of the conventional arms, ammunition and special chemistry of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation D.V. Kapranov, who spoke about prospects for the development of Photonics in the Russian Federation.

The conference program included 184 reports. Among the speakers were representatives of different higher educational institutions, scientific and industrial organizations not only from Moscow, but also other cities of Russia and Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Finland and China. In total, the conference was attended by 106 organizations: 47 universities, 21 RAS institutes, 9 scientific and research institutes, 10 industrial enterprises, 17 foreign organizations.
