On January 30 an Expert Group Ratings and scientometrics of the Rectors Council of Moscow and Moscow region has held a masterclass by the publisher of global universities ranking – Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The aim of the event was to inform representatives of the academic community about the upcoming changes in THE Rankings. As a guest speaker the following experts attended the masterclass:

• Mr. Phil Baty – editor at large of Times Higher Education magazine and editor of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings,

• Mr. Trevor Barratt – Managing Director at TES Global Limited, publishing company of the Rating.

Also speeches were made by:

• Nikolai Kudryavtsev, MIPT rector, Chairman of the Rectors Council of Moscow and Moscow region

• Mikhail Strikhanov, MEPhI Rector, Deputy Chairman of the Rectors Council of Moscow and Moscow region

• Igor Bulyzhenkov, MIPT professor, head of the Expert Group “Ratings and scientometrics” of the Rectors Council of Moscow and Moscow region
