January 11, 2015. National Research Nuclear University “Moscow Engineering Physics Institute” has started bright and large-scale events, where future students will be able to become acquainted with the university and to choose their future profession.

This year's Faculty of Automation and Electronics (“A”) was the first who opened its doors. On this day about 200 school students with parents visited the University. At the entrance guests were welcomed by MEPhI students who were willing to answer question of boys and girls, told how they live and learn here.

The official part started with a welcome address of the Faculty Dean V.S.Pershenkov to future entrants. In his speech he stressed that due to fundamental physical, mathematical, engineering and technical training combined with academic and research work of students Faculty prepares highly qualified engineers for the most advanced areas of automation and electronics of physical facilities. Today graduates of Faculty “A” successfully operate both in Russia and abroad and demand for professionals consistently exceeds supply.

Following the Dean, representatives of the leading Departments of the faculty made speeches to future applicants. They described each Department, told about scientific researches, details of the educational process, cultural and sport life of the University. Students and their parents were able to obtain information firsthand about the areas of training, learning environment, science and student life and prospects of future employment.

After the official part everyone was offered to have a tour of teaching and research laboratories and departments of the Faculty “A”.

As a part of the Open Day of the Faculty of Automation and Electronics there was held a Mathematics round of Olympiad n.a. Academician I.V. Kurchatov, which is a qualifying round of the Olympiad in mathematics of the State Corporation “Rosatom”.

• Faculty of Cybernetics and Information Security (“KiB”) – January 25, 2015;

• Department of Experimental and Theoretical Physics (“T”) – February 8, 2015;

• Faculty of Management and Economics of High Technologies (“Y”) – February 15, 2015;

• Master's degree programme – March 21, 2015;

• Faculty of part-time (evening) education – March 28, 2015.

Open Day of MEPhI is held on 5th April, 2015.
