On the 31st of October a solemn ceremony of awarding the state prizes of the Russian Federation to employees of educational institutions and scientific organizations of Moscow was held in the Hall of the collegiums of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Workers of various Moscow universities, schools and research organizations were rewarded with such national awards as the Order of Friendship, Decoration “For honorable service” of XXX years, the Medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland of II degree, the title of honour “Meritorious jurist of the Russian Federation”, the title of honour "Honorary Figure of Russian Higher Education”, the title of honour “Honored worker of culture of the Russian Federation”, the title of honour “Honoured worker of science of the Russian Federation”, the Certificate of honour of the President of the Russian Federation, the Gratitude of the President of the Russian Federation. In all 34 people were awarded.

The principal of the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” M.N. Strikhanov was awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merits to the Motherland” of II degree.
