National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” has entered the first hundred of the world's best educational institutions in the field of Physical Sciences and retained the lead in citations of scientific papers.
According to the results of one of the most influential and complex global rankings of universities Times Higher Education (THE World University Rankings) 2014-2015, which was published on October 1, 2014, MEPhI entered the TOP-100 of the world's leading universities in the subject rating “Physical sciences” for the second year in a row.
In addition MEPhI has showed positive dynamics on the following key parameters in comparison with the previous year:
• International cooperation – 54.3 points (25.7 points in 2013);
• Contribution of third-party companies in research activities – 88.7 points (82.2 points in 2013);
• Citation level – 100 points (like last year – the first place in the world with regard to the regional index).
It should be noted that, as in the past year only three Russian universities – Moscow State University (56), NSU (85), MEPhI (95) entered THE subject ratings.
In 2013 the Top-100 of the subject list of THE rating included: MSU (63), MIPT (63), MEPhI (74).
In the overall THE ranking there are two universities of Russia – Moscow State University (196) and NSU (301-350).
