On the 10th of September the University has hosted the first meeting of the Department №89 “Technology of closed nuclear fuel cycle”, created with the aim of training specialists for nuclear power engineering and primarily for the innovative project “Breakthrough”. The meeting was attended by students, postgraduates and teachers of the Department, heads and specialists of the project.

On September 13, the head of the Department № 89 V.A.Pershukov gave the first lecture of the course “Innovative projects in the nuclear industry”. The lecture was followed by the assignment of students on enterprises, which implement the project “Breakthrough”, for educational research. Then there was discussion of departments’ participation of the Physicotechnical faculty in the project with the aim to involve strong students, willing to work on energy of future, in the development of innovative fast reactors and technologies of closed nuclear fuel cycle.
