From the 25th to 29th of August 2014 the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) (Trieste, Italy) has held the tenth Nuclear Knowledge Management School, organized by the IAEA with the support and direct participation of the MEPhI. The course consisted of two main parts: distance learning with the use of learning cyber platform CLP4NET, which was held in the spring 2014, and a full-time study in Trieste.
During a week 59 participants from 30 countries were discussing the main approaches, methods and tools of knowledge management as a key resource of enterprises of the nuclear industry, participated in workshops and completed the projects on topical issues of knowledge management technologies. In addition to the IAEA specialists training was given by Russian specialists and teachers from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Department 5).
The IAEA Director General Mr Yukiya Amano noted in his address to the participants the importance of effective knowledge management aimed at increasing of likelihood of achieving long-term competitiveness and sustainability through the use of a knowledge resource for efficient operation of nuclear facilities, and highly appreciated the initiative of the MEPhI in certification of the course “Management of Nuclear Knowledge” as a career enhancement training for professionals in the nuclear industry.
Representatives of the OINPE MEPhI and Ivanovo State Power University represented Russia in this school.
