British international consulting agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published rating of the best universities from BRICS countries (QS University Rankings: BRICS 2014).
In 2014 best BRICS universities include 40 universities of China, 20 – Russia, 19 – Brazil, 15 – India and 8 – South Africa.
National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” not only strengthened its global position, but also demonstrated significant growth, rising by 9 points in comparison with the last year, taking the 57th place among the universities in BRICS (in 2013 it was 65th place) and the 9th place among Russian universities (in 2013 – 10 place).
Zoya Zaitseva, QS Ltd regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia commented the results of the updated rating. “Overall, results of this year are successful for almost all participants from Russia. The number of universities involved in the process is growing; positions have been improving. I am confident that with proper strategic approach and efforts this positive dynamics will remain not only in the ranking of BRICS universities, but will be reflected in the global ranking “QS World University Rankings”, as well as in other ratings, lists and similar publications”.
