INTERFAX.RU – International information Group “Interfax” and radio station “Echo of Moscow” has presented the fifth annual National ranking of universities, based on results of the 2013/2014 school year.

The main goal of this project is development of mechanisms and procedures of the independent evaluation system of Russian higher education institutions and their educational programs, competitiveness increase of the Russian system of education, scientific research and technological entrepreneurship, development of regional universities considered as framework for the new economy.

In total 161 Universities are in the National rating of the 2013/2014 school year. As in the previous year, the rating is headed by the Lomonosov Moscow State University. The second place is taken by the St. Petersburg State University, the third – by the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI”.

Universities activities were evaluated on six key indicators: educational activities; research activity; socialization – reflects the activity of the University in the social sphere; internationalization or international activities of the University; University brand; innovation and entrepreneurship, i.e. the activity of the University in the field of technological entrepreneurship.
