MEPhI students – winners of All-Russian competition of innovative projects in the field of IT-technologies “IT-Breakthrough”

On April 17 holding “Ruselectronics” summed up the results of the All-Russian competition of breakthrough projects in the field of IT-technologies “IT-Breakthrough”. The winners of the competition were 14 students from 10 regions of Russia.

Ceremony of winners rewarding started at the MEPhI and continued in the State Corporation “Rostec”.

At the ceremonial meeting of the finalists rewarding there were representatives of holding company “Ruselectronics”, FSUE “SPE “TORIY”, JSC “Central Research Institute “Cyclone”, Group of companies of the holding company “IBS”. They congratulated participants and reiterated the need for targeted training of young specialists in fields of industries development. They noted a significant and important role of the MEPhI in this process. In this case there are already signed cooperation Agreements among presented enterprises and the University.

Opening the event A.V.Brykin, a Deputy General Director of the holding “Ruselectronics”, reminded that the competition aim was to reveal talented youth and to bring them to the level of specialists who assess their work today. “Competition projects surprised and encouraged us”, said A.V.Brykin. “On the one hand they have profound theoretical training; on the other there is serious attention to applied aspects that have all chances of commercialization.”

The “IBS” management made a special prize for developments in the field of health care. This award gives a winner an opportunity to undergo training at the holding enterprises. It’s honored for our University that MEPhI students were winners of the “IBS” special prize: Anastasia Yagnyukova (project “Gammalocator”) and Daniil Danilkin (project “Cardiosens”).

The winners of the competition “IT-Breakthrough” are:

in the nomination “IT medico-biological type”:

1st place: MEPhI postgraduate student Anastasia Yagnyukova (project title: “Gammalocator”)

in the nomination “IT security”:

2nd place: MEPhI student Anton Shinkarenko (project title: “Hardware-software complex of protection of automated process control systems”).

As a prize the winners received cash prizes, the right to implement their projects at the facilities of “Ruselectronics” enterprises and YotaPhone phones.

The competition “IT-Breakthrough” has been held annually since December 2010 and aims to identify and support unusual projects of young engineers in the field of IT-technologies. During this time there were made 45 000 applications for the competition from 79 regions of Russia. 7 000 works received a positive expert assessment. 180 works received a rank of winners.
