On March 26 a member of the International Award Committee of the “Global energy” Thomas Blees has given a lecture in the MEPhI.

Thomas Blees is widely known as one of the leading experts in the field of energy technologies. His book “Prescription for the planet”, in which the author examines ways out of the energy and ecological crisis, received very high marks from experts in the field of energy.

The scientist made a fascinating presentation “The Future of nuclear energy” to students of the Faculty of International relations. He gave a scientific substantiation of the nuclear energy importance and analyzed obstacles to its development and present stage prospects. In addition, Thomas Blees showed a spectacular and highly relevant documentary “Pandora's Promise”, which introduced a fresh approach to safe energy and trends of the world nuclear power.

Debate, initiated by students after the lecture, showed that issues raised by Thomas Blees touched everyone's feelings. Students asked what impediments exist on the way of introduction of the latest technologies developed by the scientist, and how he plans to overcome it. The possibility of having the author's autograph was a pleasant conclusion of the meeting.
