During the visit a working meeting was held with the MEPhI principal M.N.Strikhanov, which was also attended by the Vice-President of research of the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech) Mats Norlund and by the Dean of Educational programs Skoltech Professor Mats Hanson. The workshop was devoted to development of trilateral cooperation between MEPhI, MIT and Skoltech in the field of improvement of the educational and research programs in nuclear technology and material science. It is assumed that a Center of nuclear systems and technologies will be created in the MEPhI with the participation of MIT and Skoltech.
MIT scientists visited research divisions of the University: Laboratory of experimental nuclear physics, Nanocenter and Engineering centre. The main attention was paid to the potential of scientific and technical cooperation between MIT and MEPhI in applied nuclear physics, materials science for nuclear energy and development of joint educational programs and practices for students and postgraduates.
After the official part MIT and Skoltech representatives met with MEPhI students. During the lecture students got acquainted with the opportunity to study for master's degree programs in Skoltech with an emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurial activity with the active participation of the teaching staff from MIT and MEPhI.
