MEPhI officially recognized as a member of the Worldwide CDIO Initiative on modernization of engineering education

National research nuclear University “MEPhI” was officially recognized as a member of the Worldwide CDIO initiative (http://www.cdio.org/) on the modernization of engineering education in the higher school. Joining CDIO standards MEPhI is in the rank of world leader universities such as Stanford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, California State University, United States Naval Academy, Tsinghua University (Asia Region), Chalmers University of Technology (Europe Region), etc.

CDIO (Conceive — Design — Implement — Operate) is based on the principle of training of the University educational programmes graduates in spheres of engineering and technologies for complex engineering activities, i.e. who is able to “Conceive – Design – Implement – Operate” technical and technological products, systems and processes. CDIO standards define requirements for the educational program, which can serve as a guide for modernization and evaluation of the quality of educational programmes in spheres of engineering and technology, create conditions for its continuous improvement and integration into the world educational space.

In accordance with CDIO international standards modernization of engineering education will enhance the competitiveness of University graduates, because they are focused on the practical implementation and commercialization of completed projects.
