Round table on the theme: "Participation of russian specialists in international mega-projects: basic research."

The representative of Rosatom offered to discuss the problem of attracting our experts taking into consideration participation of Russia in major international projects ITER (new project - international thermonuclear experimental reactor created in France and based on "Tokamak" developed by Russian scientists) and FAIR. But our specialists have less experience in comparison with foreign ones and we need to think over the problem of training of personnel. The head of the department of Plasma Physics of MEPhI Valery Kurnaev said some words about the experience of training specialists for ITER project attracting talented school pupils and students. He formulated the most important problem from his point of view that exists in this area: "In order to become competitive specialists it is required the state funding program of scientific activities of students."

The deputy director for research of the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics, Alexander Golubev, represented his report about the participation of Russia in a unique project FAIR - research center of the fundamental properties of matter. Participating in this project Russia receives large orders for high-tech equipment for its research centers, further integration of IT-technologies, ability of innovative development of the nuclear energy industry. "The main task of the center - financial support of Russian students, graduate students, young scientists working in areas of research FAIR”, - said A.Golubev.

Summing up the results of the round table was noted that in order to attract young professionals into international projects should be done a complex work that requires a lot of efforts in many areas and the most important thing is the promotion of Russian science in general.
