18.04.2013

Two inventions made by specialists of GKhK (the enterprise of the State Corporation Rosatom) were highly honored at the 41th International exhibition-competition of Inventions in Geneva (Switzerland). Gold medal in the category Energy was received by the invention of Decommission of the industrial channel uranium-graphite reactor by burial in place. This invention was also awarded a special prize.

The judges and exhibitors were greatly impressed by the new concept of decommissioning proposed by GKhK specialists. As experts say, nowadays this way of dealing with end-of-uranium-graphite reactors is the most acceptable one both in terms of environmental and industrial safety, and from a viewpoint of economic feasibility.

The other – silver - medal was gained for the invention of The pulsation agitator ring apparatus. The device is designed for the experimental-demonstration centre reprocessing spent nuclear fuel. There are two main advantages of the apparatus: it is harmless to environment and can be used in almost all chemical processes not related to radiochemistry.
