A big celebration of the «Student Day in MEPhI» was held on22 January in the Open-Air Museum «Kolomenskoye».

A real festive event took place on the snow-covered ground near the walls of the Alexei Mikhailovich Palace! Multi-genre festival program pleased students and schoolchildren of MEPhI colleges and high schools by its pageant with lots of interesting sports competitions and performances of different creative groups. Holiday festivities, sledding , winter fun and contests, hot tea with bagels on the bracing frost as well as the whole atmosphere of the Kolomenskoye created the perfect mood!

Open-Air Museum «Kolomenskoye» organized a bright and colorful folklore show with alternating songs, round and folk dances and music. Students had a great opportunity to see performances of artists of the Moscow theater «Look», folklore ensemble «Radoves», folk - show group «Dikovinka» and the group «Paraskeva».

Creative MEPhI teams also pleased the audience with their performances. The vocal ensemble «Quanto di Stella» was entrusted to open the concert with the MEPhI song «Student Dubinushka».

This day representatives of almost all sports teams that exist at the University came to the start: football, rugby, hockey, orienteering section, etc. Schoolchildren and students enthusiastically participated in sports competitions and cheerful contests: «Merry Starts», «Tug of war», «Racing on a banana», «Caterpillar», «Snowball», «Giant skis», «Labyrinth» and many others. Excitement of competitors was transmitted to their fans who rapturously supported their teams.

Everyone could realize their creative potential by taking part in the drawing competition «Our Rosatom» and depicting the snow logos of the State Corporation enterprises. Members of the historical fencing Club held a demonstration of sword fights and invited everyone to try on armor. Schoolchildren and students got a lot of unforgettable impression sand great photos on the background of snowy Kolomenskoye landscapes.

Cadets of the MEPhI military department were also actively involved in carrying out the holiday, they not only provided the order and safety of the event activities, but also took care of the organization of dinner - the military field kitchen fed guys with tasty soldier's porridge .

Not only student festival participants, but also numerous visitors of the Museum «Kolomenskoye» will remember this day as a cheerful celebration of sport, creativity, healthy lifestyle with indispensable attributes for Russian winter such as sledding and hot tea with bagels.

And maybe, winter student festival will become a traditional event and a great opportunity to spend a pleasant time together with the student community of our university!
