In June 2026, the ranking of universities on the quality of training specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, prepared by the Alliance in the field of Artificial Intelligence, was published. The alliance unites leading technology companies, including Sberbank, Yandex, VK, T-bank, Alfa-Bank, Gazprom, etc. Universities were evaluated according to 4 groups of criteria: the demand for graduates in hiring; the relevance of the learning process in the field of AI; the educational environment; partnerships and external interactions (a total of 19 indicators).

In the 2026 ranking, MEPhI showed the highest positive dynamics among universities, improving its position by 2 groups at once and entering group B++ (in 2025, MEPhI was part of group B). The HSE became the best university according to this rating.

It should be noted that recently the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI also took the high 5th place among all Russian universities in the RAEX "Information Technologies" subject ranking. These results indicate that in recent years, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has been rapidly developing areas related to information technology, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, business informatics, software engineering, etc.
