From May 18 to May 29, a regional school on research reactors for representatives of interested countries was held in Russia under the auspices of the IAEA. Our university took an active part in the School.

On May 19, Associate Professor of MEPhI Yuri Volkov gave a lecture on the physics of research reactors at the Rosatom Technical Academy for the participants of the school.
On May 27, the school participants took a guided tour of the IRT MEPhI research reactor, conducted by the reactor's chief engineer, Sergey Ober'erev.

On May 28, a delegation of foreign guests participating in the IAEA school visited MEPhI again, where lectures were organized for them, a tour of the virtual reality laboratory was conducted and the capabilities of the "virtual reactor" were demonstrated – the guests were given a chance to start it. According to Georgy Tikhomirov, Deputy Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Technology at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, MEPhI has a wealth of experience and a serious scientific school in the field of creating virtual simulators for nuclear energy, and this area undoubtedly has great prospects for use in the educational process of technical universities not only in Russia, but also in other countries.

At MEPhI, foreign guests were awarded certificates of completion of the IAEA school. This is the end of the educational process. Tomorrow, foreign guests will visit the ATOM Museum at VDNH.
It should be recalled that in 2023, MEPhI received the status of the IAEA Cooperation Center in the field of knowledge management and human resource development for nuclear energy.
