On May 17, the competitions of the Russian stage of the International Youth Robotics Competitions Eurobot-2026 ended at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. The victory in the intense battle of the final stage was won by a team of students and graduates of MEPhI Engi-Teams.

The MEPhI Engi-Teams team are the champions of Eurobot-2026
This tournament has become a truly historic event for the university – for the first time, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI hosted robotics competitions of such a high international level. In these circumstances, the victory of the Engi-Teams team takes on special significance.
The team consisted of: Sergey Antonov, Pavel Dvinskikh, Alexander Ermakov, Kirill Karavaev, Alexander Kuzenkov, Timur Manshin, Ilya Mosievskikh, Vyacheslav Napalkov, Kirill Osipov, Mikhail Timofeenko, Snezhana Chuiko, Mikhail Lashin, Maria Sadikova, Dmitry Volodin, Alexandra Mutyeva and Dmitry Mirgorodsky.
Leaders in the field of autonomous robotics are not only about winning competitions, but also about engineering courage, the ability to take on the risk of complex decisions and learn faster than competitors. The experience of the Engi-Teams team is just about that. The chosen architecture without additional actuators is an example of engineering minimalism, where the emphasis is on accuracy, algorithms and system integration. Such solutions move the industry forward, even if they turn out to be sensitive to external conditions at a particular start. By the way, the mythist team, created by members of the Engi-Teams engineering group of the same name, put up a robot of its own design for the competition. You can read more about it here.
Eurobot tournaments and the like are not only robot battles, but also accelerators of engineering experience. This is the place where future technological leaders are born and those who will determine the development of robotics in industry, transport and science. The victory of the Engi Teams confirms that MEPhI is forming a school capable of competing at the global level and setting the vector for the development of autonomous systems in science and industry.
For reference: The Eurobot International Youth Robotics Competition is an open championship of mobile robots created by youth teams from all over the world. Eurobot competitions, organized in 1998 as the French Youth Robotics Teams Cup, have now acquired an international status. The competition is open to young people from all over the world. Currently, the Eurobot movement unites 450 teams from 30 countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa.
