Forbes has presented a new ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia. The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, as well as last year, takes the 6th place in it.

The Forbes ranking ranks Russian universities with state accreditation that offer bachelor's or specialist degree programs and teach at least 400 students. The assessment is based on five criteria: the quality of networking, the reputation of employers, the international recognition of the university, the academic environment and the Forbes factor — the number of billionaires among graduates. MEPhI ranked 6th in the country, 2nd in academic environment and 3rd in networking.
Traditionally, Moscow universities dominate at the top of the list — they occupy 14 lines in the top twenty. The top 20 also includes three St. Petersburg universities and one each from Tatarstan, Novosibirsk and Sverdlovsk regions.
