A delegation from Kazakhstan visited MEPhI as part of an official visit to Russia, headed by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek. The purpose of the trip is to get acquainted with advanced Russian developments and best educational practices.

First Vice-rector of the University Oleg Nagornov, together with colleagues Andrey Kuznetsov and Dmitry Savkin, conducted a real scientific tour of the university's laboratories for the representatives of the delegation.

Kazakh specialists saw with their own eyes the unique installations that MEPhI is rightfully proud of – the powerful ELF laser complex, the experimental MIFIST tokamak, the VERA plasma engine (it was he who put the Svyatobor-1 university satellite into orbit).

The scale of research work and technological level of developments made a strong impression on colleagues from Kazakhstan.

The meeting ended in a warm atmosphere: the parties exchanged memorable gifts, emphasizing their readiness for further cooperation.
