On December 15-17, 2025, St. Petersburg hosted the semi-final of the most prestigious sports programming competition − the ICPC World Championship (Final Programming Competition of Northern Eurasia), which was attended by 317 teams.

MEPhI was represented in this competition by five teams of students of the Extreme Programming program (EP), who successfully passed through two preliminary qualifying stages-the 1/8 finals and the quarterfinals (Moscow Regional Contest)of the ICPC Championship. All five MEPhI teams showed a high level at this competition, which is the result of intensive training of EP students in a joint educational program with Yandex and a strategically correct policy of the administration and FACULTY to provide capable students with opportunities to develop their talents.

Following the results of the semi-final, 16 teams will represent Northern Eurasia at the ICPC 2026 final.
