The ceremony of awarding IAEA certificates to graduates of the Master's program "Management in the Nuclear Industry" was held

On October 16, the presentation of IAEA certificates to graduates of the FBIUCS Master's program "Management in the Nuclear Industry" took place at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in a telecommunication mode with the IAEA and the Republic of Kazakhstan. This educational program was developed jointly with the IAEA experts and was launched at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in 2016 (IEEE-INMA Master Program "Nuclear Technology Management").

Since 2021, undergraduates from the Republic of Kazakhstan, most of whom are employees of NAC Kazatomprom, have been studying under this program along with our students.

The teachers of FBIUX and IAFiT participate in the implementation of this program. The graduate department is the Department of Business Project Management (No. 72) of FBIUKS. Graduates of this master's program receive, along with a diploma from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI in the field of Management, an IAEA certificate reflecting the compliance of the educational program with the requirements of the IAEA for managers in the field of nuclear technology. In 2025, 12 masters completed their studies under the program, 6 of them were employees of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, which is the national operator of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the import and export of uranium, rare metals, and nuclear fuel for nuclear power plants.

The ceremony was opened by the head of the Master's program "Management in the Nuclear Industry" Professor Vladimir Kharitonov. From Vienna (Austria), where the IAEA is located, graduates were warmly congratulated by Elena Zhivitskaya– Head of the International Nuclear Management Academy (INMA) at the IAEA, and Andrey Kosilov, Executive Director of the regional network "Education and Training of Nuclear Technology Specialists (STAR-NET)".

Alexander Putilov, Dean of the FBIUKS, Georgy Tikhomirov, Deputy Director of the INPIT and Head of the Department of Theoretical and Experimental Physics of Nuclear Reactors, and Alexander Ageev, Head of the Graduate Department of Business Project Management and General Director of the International Research Institute of Management Problems, congratulated the graduates from MEPhI.

Nikita Pavlyuchenko, the head of the group and an employee of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Automation named after N.L. Dukhov (FSUE VNIIA, Rosatom), addressed the graduates with words of gratitude to the teachers of FBIUX and INAFIT.

Graduates from Kazakhstan participated in the ceremony remotely. They will receive IAEA certificates in the coming days in Almaty (Republic of Kazakhstan) at the branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. The solemn presentation of diplomas on completion of the master's degree at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI under the program "Management in the Nuclear Industry" and IAEA certificates is scheduled for the end of October this year.
