The leadership of the Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Uzatom) conducted an annual interview with graduates of the Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

During the meeting, the young specialists talked about their acquired knowledge, research projects and professional interests, as well as where they would like to start their career path. The heads of the Agency and relevant organizations discussed the prospects for their further professional implementation in Uzbekistan, including within the framework of the NPP construction project.

Based on the meeting, a protocol on employment in relevant organizations was drawn up. For example, Anastasia Filipenko graduated with a bachelor's degree in Nuclear Power Engineering and Thermophysics and enrolled at Tsinghua University in Beijing. However, after completing his master's degree, he wants to return to Uzbekistan.

"After graduation, I want to return to Uzbekistan and contribute to the development of nuclear energy and work at the Uzbek nuclear power plant. It is possible to supervise the construction, in particular, during the installation of the reactor," Anastasia shared.

"I see myself as a specialist in the field of designing the power supply of a nuclear power plant. I am attracted by the opportunity to participate in the creation of reliable and safe systems that ensure the stable operation of nuclear power plants," said Ravshan Rakhmonov, a graduate of the department of Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

Students who passed the interview successfully were hired by a number of specialized organizations, including the Uzatom Agency and the Directorate for the Construction of Nuclear Power Plants.

In 2025, 44 people graduated from MEPhI, who studied on the basis of a state grant in four areas of the bachelor's degree program — "Nuclear Power Engineering and Thermophysics", "Nuclear Physics and Technology", "Thermal Power Engineering and Thermal Engineering", "Electric Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering".

In addition, 13 masters were accepted into the leading enterprises of the fuel and energy industry of the republic – the first graduates of the bachelor's degree program at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, who successfully completed their master's degree at the parent university.
