MEPhI students as part of the elective course "Science and Art. The History of Ancient Art Technologies" visited the cradle of legislative power – the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Students saw not only the Duma building with its famous staircase, but also an exhibition organized by the Communist Party faction dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

Students were able to see an object of cultural heritage of federal significance located in the courtyard of the Duma – the Chambers of the Troekurov Boyars, a stone palace built in the 17th century. The owners of the building were the famous princely family of the Troekurovs, who descended from the Rurikovich family. The State Duma's International Affairs committee is currently meeting there.

One of the interesting points of the route through the State Duma was the LDPR faction and the cabinet of V. V. Zhirinovsky.

"The mythologists were really looking forward to an excursion to the State Duma, they wanted to see the offices where laws are passed and how the majestic building in the center of Moscow looks from the inside," says Polina Simakina, a teacher at the course. – During the tour we met deputies, it gave inspiration to our guys. After the visit, many even wanted to do an internship in the Duma. And who knows, maybe our graduates will work there and make government decisions by the dictates of fate."
