The Vice-Rector of MEPhI spoke at the main nuclear event in Brazil

Nuclear Trade exhibition is taking place in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from May 20 to 22. & The Technology Exchange (NT2E) is the largest business and technology event in Brazil's nuclear industry. Elena Vesna, Vice-Rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, took part in the business program of the exhibition.

This year, in the anniversary year of the Russian nuclear industry, the State Corporation Rosatom is the main sponsor of NT2E, which makes it possible for representatives of Russian enterprises to participate widely in the business program of the event.

At the NT2E session "Engaging a new Generation: the Future of the nuclear sector", Elena Vesna, Vice-Rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, spoke. She presented the experience of our university as one of the world leaders in the field of personnel training for the nuclear industry, spoke about the development of international programs and cooperation with Latin America.

The Vice-Rector of MEPhI noted that international cooperation and academic exchange are the basis for training highly qualified personnel who will determine the future of the nuclear industry. The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI trains specialists for Rosatom's foreign projects and is one of the world's leading universities in the field of nuclear energy. As part of the cooperation with Brazil, an updated cooperation agreement was signed in 2024 with IPEN (Instituto de Pesquisas Energéticas e Nucleares — Brazil's Institute for Energy and Nuclear Research), and in 2025 it is planned to launch a joint master's program "1+1" in the field of nuclear engineering. MEPhI records the growing interest in studying at MEPhI from students and institutes in Latin America. MEPhI currently has 48 Latin American students from Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Chile and Ecuador.
