From October 28 to November 1, the M.M. Glukhov School of Cryptography and computer security "CryptoFox-holidays" for schoolchildren was successfully held in the MEPhI National Research University in a full-time and remote format. The event was organized by the Department of Cryptography and Computer System Security (No. 41) of the MEPhI National Research University with the support of the NGO Echelon and ICSI AFSB.
In the framework of the school, the director of the NGO Echelon training Center, Alexander Dorofeev, held a lesson on the basics of ethical hacking. The participants were also able to familiarize themselves with the analysis of the tasks of the NSUCRYPTO Olympiad, which was presented by Anton Smirnov, senior lecturer at Department No. 41, and Ekaterina Shalyutina, a first-year graduate student. An important point was the work on non-standard tasks of mathematical Olympiads, which was conducted by a graduate student Kamilla Galimova.
Assist Dmitry Zakharov highlighted the topic of restricting access to YouTube as part of the applied information security day, and third-year students and members of the dtl team Kirill Korchemny and Alexander Konovalov held classes on analyzing CTF tasks. Professor at the Institute of Cryptography, Communications and Computer Science (ICSI) Sergey Motylev of the FSB Academy immersed the audience in the history of the development of cryptography and invited students to take part in the I.Ya. Verchenko Cryptography Olympiad.
Completed the school of cryptography, within the framework of which Olympiad cryptographic tasks were proposed, developed by Kirill Antonov, assistant Professor of the Department No. 41, and Alexander Borsch, associate Professor, with the support of Alexander Kutsenko, senior lecturer at the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics of Novosibirsk State University, who also attended the event.
Marina Pudovkina, Professor of the Department No. 41, was the ideologist and initiator of the "CryptoFox holidays" and cryptoregates. The event was organized by Anna Buchinskaya, an assistant at the Department of Cryptology and Cybersecurity (No. 42), and her team.
