IN the Moscow region, in the center of the city of Elektrostal, there is a beautiful building with columns. Many people think that there is a theater or a museum there. But they are wrong. This is the Moscow Regional Polytechnic College (MOPK), which turns 75 this year.

IN 1916, near the small village of Lull, the joint-stock company Elektrostal began to build an electrometallurgical plant of high-quality steels. Over time, the quiet suburban place turned into the industrial city of Elektrostal, and the plant began to ensure the country's defense capability by releasing ammunition. Since the late 40s of the last century, a number of nuclear technologies related to the creation of a "Nuclear shield" have also been mastered here.

the JSC "Machine–Building Plant", which is part of the fuel company "TVEL" of the Rosatom State Corporation, is the city-forming enterprise of Elektrostal. In 1949, in order to train highly qualified specialists for the nuclear industry, the Moscow Regional Polytechnic was organized in the city. Since 2009, the college has been a part of MEPhI.

IN the Moscow Regional Polytechnic College, you can master the most relevant and in-demand specialties, such as mechanical engineering technology, welding production, construction and operation of structures, automation of technological processes, economics and accounting. Over 75 years, the Moscow Regional Polytechnic College has trained over 22,000 highly qualified specialists! In the workshops of the plant, under the guidance of experienced mentors, MOPK students undergo industrial practice. Among the graduates of the college are heads of departments and leading specialists of the Machine–Building Plant and its subsidiaries.

B MOPK MEPhI has preparatory, correspondence and four full-time departments, the college is equipped with workshops, laboratories, a library, a canteen, sports and gyms. Studying here is prestigious and interesting!
